Fruit Race

Hang a banana on a string from your waist and try to knock an orange to the finish line without using any hands.

How To Play

  • Step 1.

Find a nice flat surface for the race to take place. Create a start and finish line about 5-10m apart. Divide the group into two or more teams.

  • Step 2.

Each contestant ties a banana onto the end of a string and then around their waistline so that the banana is just clear of the floor. Each player also has an orange, which they place on the floor in front of them but behind the start line.

  • Step 3.

On the whistle, contestants attempt to knock the orange from the start to the finish line using only the banana on the string. Feet and hands must not be used at all. Anyone using their hands or feet should be sent back to the start.

  • Step 4.

Once the orange is over the finish line the contestant can run back and tag the next team member who repeats Steps 2 & 3.

  • The Winner

The winner is the first team to push all their oranges over the finishing line with their banana pendulums.

  • Tips / Variations

Use an orange inside an old pair of tights instead of the banana.
