Consequences

(Also known as: Unfolding Story)

There are no limits to the number of people who can play this game simultaneously. Everyone helps to create weird and wonderful stories that cannot fail to be hilarious.

Never have so many laughs been generated by one sheet of folded paper.

How To Play

  • Step 1.

Issue everyone with a sheet of A4 paper and a pencil or pen. Ask them to fold it in half and then fold the top bit down roughly halfway to the bottom. Finally, fold again to the bottom. When opened out the paper should have 5 horizontal lines across it.

  • Step 2.

Next, give everyone a couple of minutes to write down a boys name in the top box of the paper. This might be someone at the party or any well known person.

  • Step 3.

Once everyone has written a name, ask everyone to fold the top section of the sheet down so that the name is invisible. Then everyone passes their paper to the person on their left.

  • Step 4.

Steps 2 and 3 are then repeated for Girls Name, They Met At...., She Said..., He Said...., and Consequently....folding and passing the paper left after each entry.

  • Step 5.

And now the finale. Starting anywhere, one person opens the paper in their possession. They then read it out the two names and the story introducing each section as follows:
David Attenborough and Wendy MET AT the annual general meeting of Tourets sufferers. DAVID SAID "I wish I could remember what day it was" and WENDY REPLIED "Oh such a beautiful pair of twins!" CONSEQUENTLY, they never again drank lemonade.
