Fizz-Buzz

How To Play

• Step 1.

  Players sit in an approximate circle. The aim of the game is for each player in turn to successfully shout the next number (or replacement word) of the number multiplication sequence in play.

• Step 2.

  However, any number containing a 3 is replaced by shouting "FIZZ!", and any number containing a 5 is replaced by shouting "BUZZ!"

• Step 3.

  Let's say the host decides the 3 times table is to be recited. The sequence goes Fizz, 6, 9, 12, Buzz, 18, 21, 24, 27, Fizz, Fizz, Fizz, Fizz, 42, Buzz, etc.
  The number 35 is of course Fizz-Buzz, and 53 is Buzz-Fizz.

• Step 4.

  Any player making a mistake is penalised with a drink penalty or forfeit. After a few rounds of practice, warn players that mistakes will result in elimination so that a winner can be found. Then replay the game using a different times table.

• 

  The last quick-witted maths genius surviving wins the game.

• Tips / Variations

  Just when everyone gets the knack of the game, inform players that any number with a 7 in it means that the turn changes direction and goes back the way it came.
  
  For more advanced players, multiples of the number 3 are Fizz and multiples of number 5 are BUZZ, so for example, 15 is FIZZ-BUZZ.
