Hopscotch

Mark out a grid of numbered boxes and after managing to land your stone on the correct box, hop to the end and back

The kids will hardly notice what great exercise they are getting out of this!

How To Play

  • Step 1.

Mark out a grid of 8 to 10 squares numbered sequentially.

  • Step 2.

Each player picks up a stone and takes turns to aim the stone at square 1, 2, 3 etc in turn, always from behind the number 1 square. After landing their stone in the target square they hop through each square in numerical order to the end of the grid and back but jumping over the square containing their stone.

  • Step 3.

Where the grid has two boxes side-by-side then both feet should hit the ground simultaneously.
Remember to pick up your stone on the way back!
After each successful hop the same player goes again until failing to hit the next target number.

  • The Winner

First player to reach the highest number and successfully complete the return hop wins.
